| Wirral Judo Club enjoyed a successful day at the North Wales Junior and Senior Judo Open on Sunday 24th getting 6 medals out of 12 entrants.
In the junior section, a gold medal went to Vikki McKay in the U48kg and Phillip Taylor (U30kg), Luke Fazakerley (U42kg), Jamie Ollerhead (U46kg) and Jade Atkinson (63kg) all got a Bronze medal. In the senior section, Callum Davies (U66kg) also received a bronze medal. Additional awards went to Vikki M for best girl of the day and Sam Campbell got the Spirit of Judo award. As well as the medals, we also picked up a few injuries. Matt Fazakerley retiring with a badly sprained wrist, Laura Barlow with a bumped head and Jamie Mercer with a loose tooth. Heather Taylor and Charlotte Wright also competed during the day. |
