Congratulations to Eve McQuade and Richard Jarvis who
both won a bronze medal at the Junior National Championships, but an extra
well done to Richard as he has been selected for World Class Start Program.
This is used to select players for the national squad. It is a big
achievement as he is the first, of hopefully many, club member to reach this
level. Unfortunately Eve narrowly missed selection for the start program.
Richard's selection was based on results obtained over a series of identification events held throughout the year, the final event being the Junior National Championships at the ICE arena Sheffield, where twelve members of Wirral Judo Club fought over two days. Wirral players who competed at Sheffield were: Anthony Daley, Duncan Swiffen, Richard Jarvis, Eve McQuade, Heather Taylor, Vikki McKay, Hannah Davies, Jade Atkinson, Charlotte Wright, Matt Fazakerley, Ronnie Morgan, Sam Campbell and Callum Davies.
